- Do I need to know any programming to use quixForms?
No, quixForms takes care of the programming for you. You only need to know how to create an HTML page using a WYSIWYG program or by hand.
- Is quixForms safe from email hacking?
Yes. Since quixForms does not expose any email addresses in the hidden fields of your form, it prevents hackers from posting their own To and From addresses to your form and sending spam through your servers. And soon with version 1.2.4 you can add a Captcha field to make sure there is a person entering the data and not a spambot.
- Can I upgrade to a newer version of quixForms when one is released?
Yes you can. We are not trying to make money off of releasing new versions of quixForms. We believe that if you have purchased quixForms before a new feature is released you should not be penalized. Therefore we allow all of our clients to upgrade quixForms anytime after their initial purchase.
- Where does the information go when a user fills out a form or survey?
Unlike most simple form processors the forms information is alwasy stored in a database so it can be reported on or just downloaded as a CSV for you to manage offline. You can also choose to have the email sent directly to you within an email.
- What types of features does the reporting section have?
We think the reporting features of quixForms are a big value added over most simple form processors. Within the reporting section you can simply view all responses, filer a report on only certain questions or answers, and compare one questions across another question (cross-tabulate). For all of these options you can choose a date range to narrow down your data results. The cross-tabulate feature allows you to see a breakdown of how many people answered yes to Question 1 and no to Question 2. This advanced reporting is perfect for detailed surveys you are running. And as always you can download the raw CSV data and do your own reporting offline.
- As a designer can I create the forms for my client and give them access to only the reporting section?
Yes you can. quixForms was built with designers in mind. Once installed quixForms can have multiple users with different levels of access. The admin users can access both the form management section and the reporting section, while reporting users only have access to the reporting section.
- What is the process like for integrating a form into my websites look and feel?
We tailored the process of placing a form within the content of the website to a designers needs. Most third party applications require the user to cut and paste HTML into various textareas representing the header and footer. While this works, we did not see it as very convenient to the designer that uses Dreamweaver, FrontPage or any other design application to code their HTML. When you need to change the content of the page you would need to edit a separate HTML file in your design program and then copy and paste the code back where it needs to go for your application. We decided it needed to be easier! We created a way for you to create an HTML as you normally would and save it anywhere on your website as you normally would. You will create links to this HTML page just as you do with all other pages. Everything is the same as you are used to. The one difference is instead of actually creating the HTML for the form itself (i.e. the questions and textboxes) you put the text %%INSERT_FORM_HERE%%. In the form wizard you will choose this HTML page as the one where you want the form you built placed, and that is it. Whenever someone goes to that HTML page, the form will be generated and placed where the placeholder is. Then if you need to change a part of the page, you can edit it as you normally would in your HTML editor and save it to the server. No other changes need to be made after that.
- Are there discounts for purchasing quixForms for multiple sites that I manage?
Well there are a few. First we offer discounts of 20-40% for purchasing multiple licenses in a bundle. You do not need to know what domains these will be installed on at the time of purchase. You can make a purchase of 5 licenses and when you need them, generate a license key for that particular domain. This pricing is specifically for designers that manage multiple sites and create new ones all the time. You can use quixForms for all your sites and your clients will have access to the value added reporting section that other simple form processing scripts don't offer.
- Can I change the form to a two column layout?
Yes you can. Just select the "Question next to answer" option for the form layout.
